A Vibrant Cultural Community Centre and the Heart of the Canadian-Italian Community in Ottawa and Surrounding Areas
The Marconi Centre aims to cultivate the spirit and tradition of our Italian heritage and unite the community through the promotion of cross-cultural activities, learning, recreation, and communication. We combine history, health sciences, facilities, and community to enhance opportunities for young and old and perform works of charity.
Community Events
Marconi Centre is a social nucleus offering a variety of programs, services, and events for all members of our community.
Seniors use the Marconi Centre for programs such as seniors' exercise classes, weekly bingos, daily card playing, social gatherings, bocce, day trips, and meetings. The events of the L'Eta D'Oro (Golden Age Club) provide an ever-important social component.
A daycare program and city-run programs are provided under the direction of the City of Ottawa.
Home to the Rideau Kiwanis Club, Dante Alighieri Society, The Order of Italian-Canadians, Italian Week, and COMITES, our ongoing commitment to the community is extended to associations and groups that use the Marconi Centre as a domicile for their charitable work.
The Marconi Centre is also used by clubs and associations for their dinner dances and other activities while supporting the benevolent purposes of the Marconi Centre. Proceeds generated through the Marconi Centre support the ongoing charitable work of Villa Marconi Long-Term Care Centre and community programs. This is an opportune way to support the community by purchasing needed services for events such as banquets, weddings, social gatherings and business conferences or meetings.
